State Budgetary Educational Institution of the Novgorod Region "City Clinical Hospital No. 1" is one of the largest multidisciplinary medical institutions of the Russian Federation and the Siberian Federal District. The hospital started its history in 1930. In November 2016, the State Novosibirsk Regional Clinical Diagnostic Center was merged with City Clinical Hospital No. 1, which allowed to unite all consultative and diagnostic services of the hospital. All modern types of surgical interventions, including: laparoscopic cholecystectomies, appendectomies, operations on appendages, hysteroscopies and many others are used in the treatment of patients. The constant growth of diagnostic methods and surgical interventions using expensive endoscopic equipment requires new modern approaches to their sterilization.

In the first half of 2020, for the purpose of approbation, our institution received modern equipment for gentle sterilization of expensive diagnostic and treatment instruments available as per the clinic's inventory - a plasma sterilizer complete with a Russian-made table stand in the version DGM Z-40.

Up to five (5) sterilization cycles per work shift were performed daily on this equipment. The main composition of medical instruments processed using plasma sterilizer model DGM Z-40 included endoscopic items (laparo-, hystero-, urethroscopes) manufactured by Olympus, Karl Storz, Fuji and auxiliary instruments for them.

The DGM Z-40 model plasma sterilizer is simple and easy to operate, requires no special conditions for connection, is equipped with all the necessary tools to control and document the process, for loading packages with medical instruments; it is equipped with two built-in shelves, has enough effective chamber space for sterilization of sets, as well as large-sized medical devices.

The DGM Z-40 sterilizer allowed our facility to perform the gentle process of sterilizing expensive equipment in the shortest possible time. It is especially noteworthy that for the performance we require, this unit has low operating costs.

Based on the successful experience of approbation, our institution recommends purchase of DGM Z-40 plasma sterilizer produced by TMEIF JSC as a reliable, efficient, safe and economical solution for sparing sterilization of expensive endoscopic and other medical equipment made of thermolabile materials.
